The Band Perry

My latest discovery: The Band Perry
I found them when I was messing around on itunes. Bored, you know. Anyways I thought their picture looked interesting so I listened to some of their stuff. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 After hearing to their songs “If I Die Young” and “Hip to My Heart” I immediately bought their EP. I just couldn’t wait until their first album is released on October 12!

The band is 3 siblings, Kimberly, Neil, and Reid Perry, from Mobile, AL.
Kimberly is on lead vocals and guitar with her younger brothers Reid on bass guitar & Neil on mandolin, accordion, & drums. Both brothers also provide backup vocals. What I love about this group is that they are just country enough to have their band in that genre, BUT it's not so much that would turn people, like me, who normally don't like country away. They have tight harmonies, multiple instruments, and a fun, unique sound! Kimberly's voice is powerful, and doesn't have an overwhelming twang to it that so many country singers have.

Listen Listen Listen!!
  • "If I Die Young"- my personal favorite. It's a slow, moving song that really shows off the band's harmonies and Kimberly's voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NJqUN9TClM&p=7E60463A35C301BF&index=1
  • "Hip to My Heart" is a more fun, upbeat song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cTI0gEZ_gg&ob=av2n

You should check them out. Especially if you like country or are trying to like it! For more information, check out their website: www.thebandperry.com
